What is Social Pillar?

GradSWE at Purdue is dedicated to creating a connected and inclusive community of graduate students that links to the broader SWE network on campus and beyond. We focus on four pillars: Reach (outreach to undergraduate students and other GradSWE sections), Balance (holistic wellness), Growth (professional development and skill building), and Community. Our three initiatives are: to provide a welcoming space for graduate students within the PSWE community; to create a multidisciplinary graduate community that will improve the professional lives of its members; and to support and advocate for holistic graduate student experiences.

 

We joined the Purdue community in February 2025 with two leadership and 80 members, and now we have 6 graduate students leading with over 180 members. As the 30th GradSWE community in the nation, we are passionate about continuing SWE's mission of empowering the next generation of engineers and ensuring everyone feels welcome in the engineering fields.
